Following public debate regarding rental costs, QA Venue Solutions—the official managers of Amahoro Stadium—is engaging in multi-stakeholder consultations to establish a sustainable and affordable pricing model. The goal is to balance the high operational standards of the newly refurbished 45,000-seater facility with the financial realities of local sports federations and clubs. While a final rate card is still being finalized, discussions suggest a base rental fee between Rwf3 million and Rwf5 million, supported by government subsidies to ensure the stadium remains a community asset.

As the dust settles on the grand inauguration of the "new-look" Amahoro Stadium, the conversation has shifted from architecture to accessibility. QA Venue Solutions, the firm that officially took the helm in December 2025, is currently leading a series of strategic dialogues to determine how much it should cost to play on Rwanda’s grandest stage.
Commercial Director Tokoloho Moeketsi emphasized that while the stadium must be commercially viable to ensure long-term maintenance, its status as a public asset is paramount. "It is our shared responsibility to ensure the venue remains sustainable... so that it continues to serve the community, federations, sports clubs and, most importantly, the fans," Moeketsi stated during a press briefing on January 19.
The transition to a professional management model marks a significant shift for local football clubs. Jules Karangwa, CEO of the Rwanda Premier League (RPL), noted that the previous system of sharing ticket revenues post-match is being replaced by a model requiring upfront payments to cover operational costs.
"Using Amahoro Stadium comes with different standards and costs compared to other venues, and that mindset has to change," Karangwa noted, adding that the focus is not on the stadium being "expensive," but rather on the actual cost of professional maintenance.
The consultations come in the wake of social media rumors claiming that rental fees had soared to Rwf100 million per match. The Ministry of Sports and QA Venue Solutions were quick to debunk these figures. According to official records:
Highest fee paid to date: Did not exceed Rwf32 million.
Proposed base rent: Currently being discussed at Rwf3 million to Rwf5 million.
Variable costs: Total expenses vary based on electricity, water, security, and the number of stewards required for specific event sizes.
Beyond the numbers, QA Venue Solutions is looking at the "Matchday Experience." Discussions are underway to improve crowd management and create incentives for fans to arrive early, reducing the strain on stadium systems during peak kickoff hours.
While a specific date for the release of the final rate card has not been set, Country Director John Ntigengwa confirmed that the current "trial phase" is nearing completion. With the government expected to provide subsidies to bridge the gap, the final pricing model aims to ensure that Amahoro Stadium remains the heartbeat of Rwandan sports for decades to come.
