KIGALI – The architectural landscape of Rwanda’s capital is set for a dramatic transformation following the launch of the Parklane Center project. The foundation stone was officially laid on January 17, 2026, in a ceremony graced by the Minister of State for Infrastructure, Amb. Jean de Dieu Uwihanganye.
The skyscraper is strategically positioned in the prime business district, situated on the plot between the Kigali Convention Centre (KCC) and Kigali Heights (YYUSSA Plaza). World-Class Design and Capacity
Designed by renowned Venezuelan architect Carlos Zapata, Parklane Center will stand 140 meters tall with 25 floors. The project is a joint venture between Parklane Group and the African branch of the Portuguese construction giant, Mota-Engil Africa.
The building’s massive 74,000 square meter footprint will be distributed as follows:
Office Space: 10 floors dedicated to premium offices, covering over 16,000 square meters.
Commercial & Hospitality: 8 floors reserved for high-end retail and a five-star hotel.
Mixed-Use Hub: Facilities for diplomacy, tourism, and international business.
A Vision for Economic Growth
Eng. Antonio Azevedo, President of Parklane Center Ltd, described the project as a model for sustainable development aimed at empowering the youth and boosting tourism. "This hotel will not only serve regional and international guests but will place Kigali at the forefront of investment, diplomacy, and tourism," he stated.
Yannick Sekamana, CEO of Parklane Center Ltd, emphasized that the focus is now on high-quality execution and timely delivery. Similarly, Claire Mugisha, COO of Parklane Group, noted that the project thrives on Rwanda's transparent governance and clear national strategy, which provides investors with the confidence to fund long-term, impactful infrastructure.
Government Support
Representing the government, Amb. Jean de Dieu Uwihanganye commended the investors for their vision. He highlighted that Parklane Center is a testament to Rwanda's "open-door" policy for investors and promised continued government support to ensure the project redefines the country’s aesthetic and economic trajectory.
